This sandstone sculpture depicts the dance of Nataraja, in his divine splendor, perched atop a dwarf, thought to be the personification of the ignorance of human beings. The wild, flowing locks and the frenetic activity depicted within this intricate work of art showcase the culmination of cosmic energy brought about by the 'Taandav' or the divine dance.
