One of the most recognizable images of Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu relaxing in the Kshira Sagara (the Milky Ocean) symbolizes bliss, diversity and the powers of creation. This exquisite sandstone creation depicts Lord Vishnu relaxing on a bed of cobras whose poison has been turned into nectar. Emanating from his navel is Brahma, the creator, seated on a lotus, while Lord Vishnu's divine consort, the goddess Lakshmi attends to him.
