The great Indian Epic, the Ramayana tells the story of Lord Ram, the seventh avataar of the Hindu God, Lord Vishnu. The eldest son of King Dasharatha, Ram was destined to inherit and rule the kingdom of Ayodhya before being sent away to complete 14 years of exile upon the instructions of his father and stepmother, Kaikeyi. Rama was characterized as the Maryada Purushottam, steadfast in his determination to do his duty and live life as per the dharma set down by the first men. Accompanied by his wife Sita and his younger brother Lakshman, Rama served his exile, rescued his wife from the asura king Ravana and returned home in triumph to Ayodhya. This exquisite marble sculpture depicts Lord Ram as most classical depictions do, accompanied by his wife Sita and his younger brother Lakshmana. The master craftsman perfectly captures the determination of Rama to do things as per Dharma, the love and devotion of his wife, the lady Sita and the reverent worship of his younger brother, Lakshmana in a this masterpiece of a sculpture. Designed in a classical form of sculpture, this statue forms a perfect addition to your living room or your puja room.
