Vasudeva:Playing Flute Atop Kaliya

Lord Krishna is considered the most powerful incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Known as the Purna Purushottam, the 8th avataar of Vishnu achieved many legendary feats and slayed many monsters to deliver his devotees and followers who sought his refuge from their burdens. One of his greatest victories came as a child when he defeated the many headed venemous serpent Kaliya. One of the most famous representations of Krishna is him playing the flute and dancing on the many hoods of the dreaded serpent as it lies, slumped in defeat. This exquisite chalkstone sculpture pays tribute to this story from the epics, perfectly capturing Krishna's nimble feet dancing on the outstretched hoods of the many-headed snake, and the defeated expression of an enemy who has been bested by a cosmic force far more powerful than itself. This masterpiece in chalk brings alive the epic story and makes a perfect addition to the living room or courtyard decor.
